Taking a moment to step back from Silent Hills, one of the things that is so frustrating to watch is company after company pledge their support for mobile gaming while they reduce their support for console development. In the end - nothing is necessarily wrong with mobile games - but the platform is beginning to swing large companies like Konami in the wrong direction. To pull effort out of console development and put a majority of your time and talents into mobile will hurt consoles across the board - and endanger them over time. We've got to address that. Silent Hills would have never been canceled had Konami believed in the value of console gaming - they believe based on their sales the console market is dead. Here's a shirt to play on that - this time poking at little fun at our friends with the plumber.
Being as I launched this site yesterday - I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew some of you were passionate about Konami, Silent Hills, Console Gaming, and Digital Game Preservation. What I didn't expect - was for Konami to put their foot in their mouth today, and for Xbox rumors to be afloat nearly everywhere. Today - the spotlight truly is on what's next for Konami, Silent Hills, and console gaming. I'm glad this site's a small part of that conversation. In under 36 hours - this site has had 5,200 unique page views - that means that there are 5,000+ of you so far concerned enough about this topic to do something tangible.
That's terrific. My promise is to keep posting creative ideas, concepts, and resources that you can use if you are going to E3 (Konami is confirmed to be there) or one of the many Playstation E3 theaters. Share your passion for console development, the Silent Hills Project, Del Toro, Norman Reedus, Kojima, and digital gaming history preservation by using my work to make fun shirts, signs, and props. Have a great time - and enjoy supporting a game franchise you love, and a past time you believe in. I've got a few more ideas up my sleeve. :) A little fun based off of Norman Reedus fans, and Del Toro's explanation of Konami's "scorched earth approach" to canceling Silent Hills. Like my other designs - if you want the art files to make this at home for you and a few friends at E3 or the various theaters, just drop me a line on the contact page. I'll get you the art - and let's spread the word.
Cool concept for another protest shirt. If you are interested, reach out via the contact page and I'll send you the artwork FREE. Print it at home, get a buddy to make a few - the more this gets out, the better during the E3 press coverage.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if some of us showed up to E3 locations with a homemade Konami protest puppet? What about making a protest puppet of Lisa...with a sign that says "There's a monster inside of Konami" LOL!! So much fun to be had with this idea.
Just a clever idea for a protest shirt. If you are planning on making one yourself or for others, get in touch and I'll send you the design file. Thoughts?
